Get Involved
Now that you’re a Toronto Metropolitan student, you can really enrich your undergraduate experience. Check out ways you can meet new people, try new experiences, explore the city, and get active in the Toronto Metropolitan community.

Meet new friends from all over campus. Student groups gather to share common interests — from faith to food, hobbies to home country. Science students alone have over 25 groups. Join a student group or organize one yourself.

Each academic program has a student-run course union. Elected members keep on top of program-related matters and advocate to bring students the best program experience possible. Voice your ides, concerns and questions — maybe even run for office. Check out Faculty of Science Course Unions, external link.

The RSS is the overarching organization representing all science undergraduates. It oversees, funds and supports all science course unions and student groups. It also runs events, such as the Science Formal, and can connect you (and sometimes even fund you) for science conferences and competitions.

Build your leadership skill and help a new student transition into university life. If you’re an upper-year student, you may qualify to become a peer mentor through the Faculty of Science First Year Science or through the Tri-Mentoring program.

Apply your knowledge to a new start-up or cause. Toronto Metropolitan's diverse Zone Learning community has ten zones, including the Science Discovery Zone. Learn how entrepreneurship works and collaborate with students, researchers and industry to incubate new ideas.
