Message from the Dean

Welcome to 2025, everyone. I look forward to a great semester for the Faculty of Science with many positive events and moments for us.

Firstly, we will initiate “Community Thursdays,” where we encourage all staff and faculty to come to work on campus. The hope is that we rebuild community and friendships that are best nurtured in person. There will be a monthly morning coffee from 9 to 10 am hosted by each unit on a rotating schedule. The Dean’s Office will host the first on January 16th.

The FOS Academic plan will be ratified at FOS Council this semester. I thank everyone for their contributions and engagement with the plan. Through it, we will commit to returning to our roots of supporting our community.

I personally am looking forward to our student awards night in February and encourage everyone to attend if you can.

SRC activities will accelerate as the academic term ends, and I wish everyone a great conference season and a successful semester.

The Dean’s door is always open, not just on Thursdays.

Sincerely,

David Cramb
Dean, Faculty of Science
