The RTA School of Media's mission is to provide its students with an outstanding and rigorous education in media production and media art, supported by a depth of interdisciplinary practice and critical thinking in media and cultural studies, business, and liberal arts. Students apply their creativity through a broad range of media platforms and emerging technology. They learn about context, ethics, social justice, cultural impact, and potential audiences for what they create.

The School of Image Arts delivers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education in the linked disciplines of film, photography and integrated digital. The curriculum embraces a balance of theory and practice, fine art and commercial production, while nourishing critical thinking and freedom of expression. You will be a versatile, entrepreneurial and creative contributor to society.

The School of Performance offers a BFA in three disciplines: Acting, Dance and Production + Design. We provide the highest standard of arts education for exceptionally talented performers and practitioners who go on to become world class artists, leaders and global citizens. We raise the standard of professional practice in theatrical disciplines, pursuing excellence in performance to provoke curiosity and risk-taking in changing political and social world contexts.

The Academic Integrity Office (AIO) exists to ensure that  (PDF file) PDF filePolicy 60: Academic Integrity is carried out in a fair and transparent way and to provide educational resources to the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) community regarding academic integrity and misconduct. The AIO provides guidance and support to students and decision makers and ensures that all parties are aware of their rights and responsibilities. The AIO is neutral with respect to all cases and is neither an advocate for students or faculty nor a decision-maker in the process.

All students, staff and faculty from The Creative School will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud. Access to the Adobe CC license is associated with your MyServiceHub credentials. 

Microsoft Office 365 Education is a free suite of hosted Microsoft services and applications that is intended for educational needs among Toronto Metropolitan University’s students, faculty and staff. This is a subscription model and will never require upgrading and is always up to date.

The Toronto Metropolitan University library provides students with access to hundreds of books, journals, film and video, and on-line academic databases. As well as, Technology & Tools through the Digital Media Experience Lab (DME) technology equipment facility. 

Through the RACER interlibrary loan system, TMU students also have access to material from research libraries throughout North America.

The Toronto Metropolitan University Digital Repository is a space for collecting, preserving, and providing online access to research and teaching materials created by the TMU community. Content is openly available to anyone on the web. You can find theses, dissertations, articles, technical reports, working papers, conference papers, etc. within the collection.

The ServiceHub is your front-line service centre for the Office of the Registrar, including support for undergraduate admissions, fees, financial assistance, MyServiceHub support, exams, class schedules, Chang School course enrolment, applying to graduate and more.

The Student Success Centre helps students navigate services across The Creative School and Toronto Metropolitan University. 

The Centre for Student Development and Counselling (CSDC) offers free, confidential counselling services in a professional and friendly environment. Services are provided by a team of psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists and counselling interns.

Services, programs and resources are intended to assist students in solving immediate problems, defining their personal, educational and career goals, and acquiring the self-confidence and transferable skills necessary for professional success and individual growth. Services are provided on a one-to-one basis or in a group format.

The Medical Centre is a medical clinic providing currently registered Toronto Met students, staff and faculty with a wide range of medical services you would normally expect from your family physician. This includes the treatment of illnesses, such as colds or the flu, to routine examinations like annual physicals and internal examinations. You must book an appointment to see the doctor.

Student Learning Support (SLS) is a group of services and programs aimed at helping students engage more effectively in their academic studies. We teach essential academic skills and study techniques that help students express their intelligence more effectively, apply their knowledge and communicate their ideas.

The Design & Technology Lab  (opens in new window) 

The Design + Technology Lab is a 8,300 sq ft. research, education, and manufacturing workshop supporting technology-based research, curriculum, and entrepreneurship activities. 

The Catalyst

The Catalyst is a large-scale space dedicated to scholarly, research, and creative activities within The Creative School. It supports a vast scope of potential, emerging, and ongoing projects and brings people together to explore, innovate, and impact our world.

The Red Bull Gaming at The Creative School located at 80 Gould Street offers new applications of video games and esports for students with a focus on supporting video game design, esports broadcasting, and virtual production. 

The Innovation Studio

The Innovation Studio is a cross-disciplinary studio that is home to four creative incubators: Design Fabrication Zone, Fashion Zone, Music Den, and Transmedia Zone devoted to innovation in storytelling, music, design, fashion, and maker culture.

TMU Graduate Students’ Union is a membership-driven union representing over 2500 full-time and part-time graduate students at Toronto Metropolitan University. We are dedicated to supporting your graduate journey by offering services such as health and dental coverage, funding for course unions and hosting events to build a community on campus.

Your health and dental plan offers comprehensive benefits, ranging from drug, paramedical, dental, vision, trip, and accidental. If you are registered for both the Fall and Winter sessions of the academic year, you are covered from September 1 to August 31. If you are registered to begin your studies in the Winter session of the academic year, you are covered from January 1 to August 31.

Zone Learning is for anyone who wants to get practical experience in what it takes to build an initiative/venture from the ground-up. You can initiate your own projects or contribute to existing ventures involving faculty, business and community partners. As a graduate student, collaborate with potential users on highly practical applications of your research.

Toronto Met has 10 zones, each focuses on a specific industry and offers students access to resources and mentors.
