Winkler Class Actions Moot

Winkler Moot interview

The Warren K. Winkler Class Actions Moot provides students the unique opportunity to explore a class certification hearing. Named after former Chief Justice Winkler, the moot is unique in that students engage in a hearing held in motions court, meaning they must argue both the law and evidence before the court.

Course Credit

Participation in the moot is recognized under the course JUR 301 Moot Court Competition, offered during the Winter semester.

Prerequisite Courses

Participants are required to have completed JUR 211 Class Actions and JUR 305 Moot and Advocacy Skills, offered in the Fall semester.

Tryout Process

Oralists qualify for the Winkler Class Actions Moot through the McCarthy Tétrault Cup held in May. The researcher qualifies by application in September.
