CTLC 2026: Technology, Trust & Relationships
- Date
- August 20, 2026 - August 21, 2026
- Time
- All Day
The Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University is hosting the Canadian Technology Law Conference (CTLC) 2026: Technology, Trust & Relationships on August 20-21, 2026.
CTLC 2026 will explore the vast intersection between relationships and technology across diverse perspectives and emerging challenges. As our relationships are increasingly re-shaped by the technologies that mediate them, our shared norms and expectations of social institutions are recalibrating. Technological advances are transforming how we relate to one another and challenging how we rely on our legal systems to resolve conflicts, vindicate harms, and organize daily life in Canada.
Through a mix of public events and paper workshops, CLTC 2026 will aim at gathering scholars, lawyers, journalists, and civil society from across Canada to discuss pressing issues related to the emergence and regulation of new technologies including online harms; privacy and data governance; trustmarks; social media and platform regulation; digital trust and safety; AI and human relationships; digital age verification and child protection; and deepfakes, watermarking and online provenance.
