Student Life
Students in the Department of Chemistry and Biology are an active bunch. There are lots of science-related activities going on, and also lots to explore in downtown Toronto. Check out the possibilities, make new friendships, try something you’ve never done before, and make the most of your undergraduate life.
Get involved in student government, or meet new friends in dozens of student groups across campus. Check out special interest groups (external link) or STEM-related groups (external link) , such as the Toronto Met Stem Cell Club or Premedical Science Society.
The university has several zones where students across disciplines can incubate ideas, get involved in start-ups, and access mentorship and support. Come to a Zone Learning event and discover what students, researchers, business mentors and industry partners are working on. Attend a boot camp, workshop, or networking event.

The Science Lounge is a special space reserved for Faculty of Science students. Grab a spot to study or do group work, book the lounge for a special event, or just come to hang out with friends.
Try out for a competition, attend a conference, or even present your research. Our students are active in the Southern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference, the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (external link) , and the Ontario Biology Day conference that showcases undergraduate researchers in Biology and Life Sciences, and other competitions and conferences in STEM (external link) .
