Student Housing Policy
Toronto Metropolitan University provides students with access to housing services, support, and resources through dedicated web pages and in-person or virtual office enquiries.
Admission to Residence
Toronto Metropolitan University offers students admission to its limited residence accommodations based on the following priorities:
- Being an incoming first-year undergraduate student; and
- Living distance being the furthest away from campus.
Toronto Metropolitan University provides international students with information about and, if requested, assistance with finding suitable off-campus housing options when residence accommodations are not available.
Toronto Metropolitan University provides students with the following housing-related resources:
- An off-campus housing facilitator dedicated to supporting and guiding students with navigating off-campus housing resources;
- Access to information regarding private housing options in the TMU neighbourhood identified by the Student Housing team;
- Advice on the housing search process, referrals to information on leasing and legal support resources, and general education;
- Information related to safety and other related resources;
- Short-term housing information; and
- Information regarding financial assistance and other related opportunities.
