Designing AI-Ready Courses: A Practical Framework for Integrating GenAI into Experiential Learning

Generative AI is rapidly reshaping how students learn and how instructors design learning experiences. Yet many faculty face uncertainty about how to integrate AI into their courses in ways that enhance learning, preserve academic rigor, and reflect real-world practice. This session presents a practical framework for designing AI-ready courses that integrate experiential learning with responsible use of generative AI. Drawing on a series of pedagogical innovations—from client-based projects and multimodal content design to a dual-layer assignment structure that combines individual AI-supported learning with team-based experiential work—the session illustrates how AI can function as a learning accelerator and prototyping tool without replacing disciplinary expertise or professional judgment. Participants will gain adaptable design principles, assessment strategies, and implementation pathways to lead pedagogical innovation and support meaningful learning in an AI-enabled educational landscape.
