What are Bootcamps?

The Business Career Hub at the Ted Rogers School of Management provides students with opportunities to continuously upgrade and enhance their technical skills through industry and facilitator-led bootcamps. Attending these bootcamps provide students with fast access to industry-relevant training to bridge the gap between curriculum and market needs.

We are dedicated to supporting the  (PDF file) TRSM 2025–2030 Strategic Plan by delivering impactful services that enhance undergraduate students’ career readiness and employability.

The team is focused on building accessible and inclusive pathways for our community to develop in-demand technical skills.

As a Business Technology Management student, I’ve learned how important different tools, platforms, and technical skills are in shaping the world of business and technology. The technical bootcamps offered through the Business Career Hub at the Ted Rogers School of Management have played a huge role in helping me explore these areas and build confidence in my technical abilities.
In my first year of university, I attended a UX Design bootcamp, which sparked my interest in design thinking, agile methodologies, and creating user-focused products. My passion led me to become a UX Design Co‑Facilitator, where I had the opportunity to teach other students and support their learning journeys.
As I continued exploring different bootcamps, I discovered a new passion for data analytics. Through SQL, Python, and Excel bootcamps, I realized how much I enjoyed working with data, solving problems, and uncovering insights. Not only did bootcamps teach me the fundamentals of these tools, but they also helped me apply them confidently in academic and professional settings.
Throughout my learning journey at TRSM, the bootcamps have introduced me to new tools, skills, and opportunities. Each session has helped me build skills that support both my current responsibilities and my long‑term career goals. I am grateful that the Business Career Hub creates hands-on learning experiences, encouraging students to explore their interests and helping them strengthen their technical skillset!

The Ted Rogers bootcamps have been a key part of my technical development both as a student and professional. As a senior Business and Technology Management coop student looking to bridge the gap between business and technology, the Ted Rogers bootcamps have been a key part of my technical development. My involvement with bootcamps commenced in my very first semester. At the time, I had next to zero technical knowledge, however, I demonstrated a high willingness to learn and continued to showcase curiosity by taking part in a diverse range of workshops. One of my key motivators for building my technical agenda was to prepare myself for future co-op placements where relevant technical skills such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint would be highly valued. About one year later, I began my co-op journey with CGI where I served as a Project Control Officer within Client Operations. In this role, I was supporting stakeholder management utilizing applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint which allowed me to utilize the technical skills I built through the Microsoft Office Specialist certification hosted by TRSM Bootcamps. While this experience felt rewarding, I was only able to embrace it because of my strong willingness to learn. Furthermore, as an incoming graduate, I am very grateful for the knowledge I have built through my involvement within several bootcamps and I encourage students to take advantage of resources such as bootcamps in order to stay up-to-date with the newest trends and changes in the industry of technology.
