Co-ops, Field Placements, and Internships

Experience with employers and potential employers is a highly-valued part of all of the programs offered by the Department of Politics and Public Administration.

Since the inception of the BA program in 1984, it has contained a Practicum Option, which allows students with three or more years of approved work-experience in the public or para-public sector, and a CGPA of at least 2.67, to use their workplace as the foundation for PPA50 A/B: Practicum, a full-year course in the program.  Students eligible to complete the Practicum Option complete the BA program with a total of 33 one-semester undergraduate courses, with PPA50 A/B being two of them.

For further details of the Practicum Option and for the necessary application forms, see Curriculum > Level 3 Degree (opens in new window)  on this site.

Given the nature of the PAG program, very few students have the opportunity to do field placements or internships. For those interested in these, please visit the listing of Co-ops, Field Placements, and Internships (opens in new window)  in the Politics and Governance (BA) section of this site.
