Biography

Guytano Virdo is a doctoral candidate in the Policy Studies Program at Ryerson University.  He holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Health Policy and a Bachelor of Health Studies (BHS), both from York University.  His research focuses on precarious hospital labour in Ontario hospitals among nurses and ancillary workers.  His dissertation utilizes both quantitative and qualitative research methods to examine the relationship between policy and precarious labour among hospital workers in Ontario.

Guytano’s current research interests include precarious labour, public management and governance, hospital and long term care facility labour, and quantitative methods in the social sciences.
