2015 IPAC National Case Study Competition

February 09, 2015

Congratulations to Sana Adi, Goran Arsenovic, Keren Gottfried and Davoud Sarfaraz -- the case study  team from Ryerson's Public Policy and Administration MA Program -- for their impressive performance at the 2015 IPAC national Case Study Competition (external link, opens in new window)  held in Halifax on Saturday 07 February 2015.

They had strong competition as their division included the University of Toronto, Carleton University, Queen’s, Laval and York. Notwithstanding the strength of the Public Administration programs at those universities, the Ryerson team placed second to U of T  and were among the top four teams overall in both divisions. Other team coaches who had the chance to observe the presentation were commented favourably on the team’s briefing in terms of both substance and delivery. Overall, the team generated a very positive "buzz" throughout the event.

OPS Fellow Donna Ratchford (opens in new window)  and Public Servant in Residence Joan Andrew (opens in new window)  - together with Coach Bryan Evans (opens in new window)  - were  very much part of this proud showing. Donna and Joan shared their time and experience as active participants in the coaching and skills development process the team engaged in. Their contribution was critical and essential. Dr. Evans reports that, at the coach's debrief, the observation was made that there was a very discernable difference between teams that had policy professionals as part of the process and those that did not. Their knowledge and experience added tremendous value to the learning and performance of the team.
