Dr. David Sandomierski, Visiting Scholar at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law
We are pleased to announce that Dr. David Sandomierski will serve as a Visiting Scholar at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
Dr. Sandomierski joined the Lincoln Alexander Law community this fall as a visiting professor and co-taught the Law and Architecture course in collaboration with TMU's Department of Architectural Science.
Dr. Sandomierski is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law at Western University, a Teaching Fellow at Western University’s Centre for Teaching and Learning, and a Senior Fellow at Massey College. He holds an SJD from the University of Toronto, where his doctoral dissertation received the Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal, as well as civil and common law degrees from McGill University, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the McGill Law Journal. From 2008-09, he served as a law clerk to The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, then Chief Justice of Canada.
Dr. Sandomierski is the author of Aspiration and Reality in Legal Education, which examines the relationship between realism and formalism, and between theory and practice, in contemporary legal education. His research focuses on the role that law schools play in cultivating critical and engaged citizens.
As a Visiting Scholar, Dr. Sandomierski will continue his interdisciplinary research project on the architecture of law schools, including co-hosting informal project-related conversations. He will also contribute to campus life through workshops, facilitated discussions, and other collaborative activities with students, faculty, and partners across the university.
