About Fashion

At TMU, we believe fashion can and must be transformed.

Guided by the principles of Decolonization, Inclusion, Sustainability, and Accessibility, our teaching, research, and partnerships are focused on preparing students to be not only industry professionals but also responsible and enterprising leaders and citizens, locally and globally. By centering diverse perspectives and addressing fashion’s environmental and social responsibilities, the program positions graduates to reimagine fashion’s role in creating more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable futures.

The Fashion curriculum is designed to give you both flexibility and focus. You’ll start with a foundation of core and fundamentals courses, then build your own pathway through advanced electives and concentration areas. Over four years, you’ll have the chance to explore design, textiles, communication, curation, and scholarship, while also developing specialized expertise in the areas that matter most to you.

You’ll learn from faculty who are leaders in fashion and creative industries, and you’ll gain the skills and experiences that connect directly to careers in design studios, fashion houses, media, cultural institutions, retail, and entrepreneurial ventures. Located in Toronto’s downtown core — home to Canada’s most vibrant fashion, media, and cultural scene — you’ll also benefit from partnerships and networking opportunities with industry and cultural leaders.

Global media productions such as Project Runway Canada have chosen to work with our facilities and students, underscoring the School’s role in shaping Canadian fashion.

The program’s structure ensures you graduate with both a strong foundation and the confidence to enter Canada’s fashion and creative industries with the knowledge, skills, and professional connections to thrive.
