SciMentorship Program

SciMentorship Program

The SciMentorship Program at TMU connects upper-year science students with experienced professionals and alumni, offering mentorship and guidance to help students excel in their future STEM careers.

Navigating career development and job searching can be daunting. With the experience and emotional support of a mentor who has “been there, done that”, the often stressful and frustrating process can be transformed into a meaningful learning experience.

“It was a lot of little things that happened along the way where it was someone giving me a break, and that’s why I want to give back. I want to do the same thing for other people.”

Alex Finlayson, Computer Science '06

At the Faculty of Science, our goal is to empower students as they approach graduation and prepare them to enter their respective industries by creating a community that they can stay connected to. The SciMentorship Program connects alumni, friends, senior leaders and industry professionals with science students in their third year and above, helping them make informed decisions to achieve their academic and career goals. Mentorship happens through one-on-one sessions, networking events and panel discussions.
