Willms & Shier Environmental Moot

The Willms & Shier Environmental Moot is Canada’s first and only national moot court competition dedicated to environmental law. The moot takes the form of a fictional appeal of a real case to a Canadian court of last resort, and students practice written and oral advocacy skills with cutting-edge issues regarding environmental law.

Course Credit

Participation in the moot is recognized under the course JUR 301 Moot Court Competition, offered during the Winter semester.

Prerequisite Courses

Participants are required to have completed JUR 306 Environmental Law and JUR 305 Moot and Advocacy Skills, offered in the Fall semester.

Tryout Process

Oralists qualify for the Willms & Shier Environmental Moot through the McCarthy Tétrault Cup held in May. The researcher qualifies by application in September.Course Credit
