Launching The Honourable George R. Strathy Award
This past week, members of Toronto's legal community gathered on the Toronto Metropolitan University campus to extend their gratitude to The Honourable George R. Strathy, former Chief Justice of Ontario, for his sustained leadership to the legal profession and commitment to the Lincoln Alexander School of Law.
Throughout his career, Justice Strathy has exemplified a visionary mindset and has been unafraid to challenge and disrupt the status quo. He has led the technological modernization of the courts, championed equity, diversity and inclusion, and advocated for mental health and wellness in the legal profession.
In recognition of his indelible contributions, the Lincoln Alexander School of Law has launched The Honourable George R. Strathy Award to honour law students who have contributed to the health, wellness and sense of belonging to the Lincoln Alexander Law community.
