Remote desktop

You can request VPN access and CCS will process the request. CCS will e-mail you instructions once your VPN account has been created (normally within 48 business hours). 

Arts VPN

If you have Arts VPN login. Use the  (PDF file) PDF filefollowing steps to logon to ArtsVPN only.

Global VPN

If you are outside Canada, the United States or Mexico visit https://www.global.ryerson.ca

You get around most geographic restrictions that way.

Software Downloads

It is very simple we can download Microsoft multi factor authentication and Google authenticator. If you have any issues during setup reach out to us at artshelp@torontomu.ca or call us at 416-979-5000 ext 552723. 

The TMU Two factor authentication can be reset by following simple steps. If you’re using a mobile device. You’ll need to install the Google Authenticator app on your device. Once installed, be sure not to delete the app as you’ll need it each time you generate a verification code or choose Trust the device during login (trusting the device will remember for 30 days).

The department has chosen to make Adobe Creative Cloud available to you! The software can be  installed/downloaded by  (PDF file) PDF filefollowing instructions mentioned here

The process of sharing files in Google Drive is simple and easy. You can use the following methods to share files to specific students or with your department or with external members. 

If you want to save your Google Documents like Google Sheets/Slides/Docs to local computer follow the steps, external link (external link) .

Zoom meetings can be hosted very easily and you have copies of your zoom session recorded and downloaded to your computer or  uploaded to drive. These steps will help youhost a meeting session in Zoom with student/department members/ external members.

You can Share the meeting invitation either in your:

  • D2L Brightspace course shell.
  • Emailing it to your participants/students.
  • In the details section of a Google Calendar invitation

 Zoom cloud recordings starting May 2nd  will only remain available for a time-limited period of six months.

  • Zoom recordings stored in the cloud will be automatically deleted six months after the date of their creation (they will be placed in the Zoom trash folder).
    • More importantly, previous recordings that are over six months will be automatically deleted (so meetings before December 2nd, 2020)
  • One week before a recording’s permanent deletion, meeting hosts will be notified that recordings in their trash folder will be permanently deleted in seven days.

You can recover your zoom recording from  (PDF file) trash folder by following the steps.

If you want to access something in your mydocs just click \\morpheus.arts.ryerson.ca\mydocs and type in arts\USERNAME and your arts password

After you’ve VPN’ed

If you want to connect to your office desktop

Search the start menu for “Remote Desktop Connection”

Type in (YOUR USERNAME).torontomu.ca (or whatever your office machine is named)

Logon with ARTS\USERNAME and your ARTS password

Note: you cannot use technologies like Zoom/Google Meet while Remote Desktop’ed to your office computer (that would need doing on your local system/laptop)
