Dennis Kar
Dennis Kar is a partner at Dillon Consulting Limited and leads the firm’s Integrated Mobility practice. He has been working in the transit industry for over 23 years, providing a strong focus on equitable, customer-focused and sustainable mobility solutions in urban and rural environments.
Dennis also spent six years as an adjunct professor at Toronto Metropolitan University teaching a Transportation Planning course, and currently leads an Urban Planning Studio course on topics such as Journey Mapping for specialized transit, planning mobility solutions for 15-minute cities and developing integrated wayfinding plans for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. He is passionate about learning and training the next generation of transit planners.
Dennis has also led a number of industry courses on behalf of several municipalities and associations. This includes:
- “Transit Planning for Sustainable Communities” five-day course on behalf of the Canadian Urban Transit Association;
- "On Demand Transit" and “Rural Transit” workshops for the Ontario Public Transit Association;
- “Transit Planning 101” short course for the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and several transit agencies; and
- “Transit and Land Use Planning for Sustainable Communities” on behalf of the Canadian Urban Transit Association and the Ontario Professional Institute of Planners.
Dennis is also a member of the CUTA Board of Directors, Accessible Transit Committee and Youth and Emerging Leaders Committee.
