Blair Scorgie is the managing principal of Scorgie Planning. He is a registered professional planner and urban designer with over fifteen years of relevant consulting experience. Blair holds a Master of Architecture, specializing in urban design, from McGill University as well as a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Toronto Metropolitan University. In addition to his work at Scorgie Planning, Blair is a contract lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning, where he has led the instruction of field research and applied studio courses for over ten years.

​In a volunteer capacity, Blair is a mentor and sponsor of aspiring planners at the Professional Standards Board. He is also the director of the Leslieville Residents Association, a member of the WoodGreen Community Services Housing Development Committee, and a member of the Leslieville Business Improvement Area Development Committee and Streetscape Master Plan Committee. Blair is also the past chair of the City of London Urban Design Peer Review Panel.

Blair is a contributing author of House Divided, an anthology published by Coach House Books that is focused on addressing Toronto's housing crisis. He is also a co-author of The House is on Fire, a report prepared under the direction of SvN Architects + Planners Inc. that is focused on utilizing the Official Plan as a means of comprehensively implementing the City of Toronto's TransformTO Net Zero Strategy. Finally, Blair is a contributor of The Mid-Rise Manual, a report prepared under the direction of Environmental Defence that is focused on unlocking remaining barriers to mid-rise development.

Blair's consulting, academic and thought leadership work has been featured in major publications including the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and Spacing Magazine, and has been highlighted in media interviews with the CBC News, Global TV News, City TV News, and AM640 among others. His work has also been featured in industry periodicals including Y Magazine and NRU Publishing, as well as major research papers and reports associated with the Toronto Real Estate Board, the TMU Centre for Urban Research and Land Development, and City Building TMU. Blair has participated in a number of industry conferences and events, serving as a keynote speaker, presenter, and discussion panel moderator.
