Biography

Annie Luo is a multidisciplinary creative artist and technologist, driven by a fascination with the intersection of art, digital media, and psychology. Before TMU, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Shanghai; She possesses hands-on expertise across film production, new media operations, graphic design, and journalistic writing. Her toolkit is as diverse as her interests—proficient in Adobe Creative Suite for visual storytelling and Python for structured innovation.

Luo's creative process is uniquely shaped by her ADHD cognitive style, which fuels hyper-focused exploration and novel connections between disparate fields. This is shown in her personal hobbies, such as designing creative nail art, photography, drawing Chinese paintings, and playing Chinese Zither, which she mastered since 4 year old. She thrives in concept-driven environments where high aesthetics meet purposeful execution, capable of leading projects from initial artistic research to final technical delivery.

She is actively seeking opportunities where her synthesis of artistic sensibility, psychological insight, and technical rigor can contribute to groundbreaking work in creative direction, media art, or experiential storytelling.

Why Digital Media?

On a personal level, I'm always passionate about storytelling and creative expression through media. Digital Media is not only a field of study for me, but also the language I think and create in. In addition, I am particularly excited about pushing the boundaries in emerging areas like AR, VR, and AI, imagining how they can create more immersive and intelligent human experiences.

Professionally, My undergraduate studies and hands-on projects have equipped me with a strong foundation in media production and storytelling. TMU’s renowned Digital Media program, with its industry recognition and cutting-edge curriculum, is the ideal environment to deepen my expertise and transform my existing skills into professional mastery.

Looking forward, I see Digital Media, especially its convergence with AI and immersive tech, as the frontier of both social communication and technological innovation. By mastering these tools at TMU, I aim not only to secure a fulfilling career at this exciting frontier but also to contribute meaningfully—using technology to connect people, enhance understanding, and drive positive progress.
