Leanne Sachs is Toronto Metropolitan University’s first Program Manager, Privacy, Compliance, and Records Management.  Since graduating with her MLIS from Dalhousie University, she has worked in a variety of sectors including not-for-profit, municipal government, private sector, and higher education at the university for the last 10 years.  

Leanne manages the Records Management Program at the University.  She provides records management advice and trains staff on applying Functional Classification and the Records Retention Schedule to University Records.  

In addition, Leanne is responsible for managing Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for systems and technologies that process personal information.  Leanne provides advice to stakeholders across the university throughout the life-cycle of managing personal information from defining privacy requirements, through to procurement, contract reviews, and implementation in compliance with privacy legislation including FIPPA, PHIPA, GDPR, and CASL. 

Leanne also holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) designation.
