Hi, my name is Rehana, and I was born and raised in Toronto. Some things I enjoy are taking pictures with my digital camera and keeping a scrapbook, so I take a lot of pictures to capture memories for my book. I love living in the city among tall buildings, which is one of the reasons why I chose TMU :) I also love café hopping.

Mechatronics
Hi! My name is Sansayan and I'm a first-year Mechatronics student. What I love about TMU Engineering is how hands-on it is. After all your classes, you have the option to attend various clubs and design teams that'll expand your knowledge in whatever engineering discipline you decide to pursue. Being part of FYC, I'll make sure every first-year's voice is heard and help make first year the best year for any student.

Besides engineering, I’m also a part of TMU’s cross country and track teams, and I’m a retired high school football player. Some of my other hobbies are chess, working out and playing video games (mostly FromSoftware). I want to get to know as many of you as possible so feel free to introduce yourself to me!

Applications for committee membership typically open each September. Those interested in getting involved should watch for the call for volunteers, which will include details on how to apply
As a committee representative, you are responsible for communicating with your peers regularly to find out what their concerns are. You must also make a bi-weekly announcement in a common course regarding upcoming events or helpful resources. From time to time, you will be asked to take part in social media campaigns and outreach.
The committee meets monthly. Also, once a term, the representatives attend a First-Year Engineering Success committee meeting, where they share your concerns (anonymously) with all first-year instructors and support staff.
Most committee members are first-year students, as they represent their peers. However, two First-Year Ambassadors, who are upper-year students, attend meetings to offer guidance and support.
You can email the First-Year Ambassador Lead at fyalead@torontomu.ca, with any questions about the First-Year Committee.
