Economics and Management Science (BComm)
The Economics and Management Science (EMS) major within the Business Management program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree.
The EMS major represents a unique partnership between the Department of Economics and the Ted Rogers School of Management. Students take required courses in economic theory, quantitative methods, finance, and other business areas. The program is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, and there is an option of doing up to 16 months of co-op placement.

The EMS major gave me the analytical foundation that continues to influence my work at the Bank of Canada. By combining economics with business management, I learned how to break down complex problems, assess risk, evaluate trade-offs and think strategically about policy and regulatory issues. Beyond technical skills, EMS fostered a growth mindset that has stayed with me throughout my career and supported my ongoing development and progression.
