- Competitive entrance funding: Accepted to a graduate program? All Faculty of Arts graduate students receive a competitive program entrance funding package
- Research assistantships: Further your academic career and build your resume by working with faculty on funded research projects
- Academic employment: Financially support your studies and gain experience by joining our Faculty’s teaching community as an Academic Assistant (AA).
- External awards: Faculty of Arts graduate students have secured more than $1.9 million in external fellowships and scholarships

The Geoffrey F. Bruce Fellowship is designed to generate research recommendations that shape public policy related to freshwater resources in Canada. Research projects should be rooted in the social sciences and contribute to interdisciplinary analysis and discussion of freshwater governance and policy in Canada.
- Amount: $25,000 annually in fellowships to fund up to 2 graduate projects in Canadian water policy. Fellowships may be held for up to 2 years
- Eligible areas of research: Freshwater-related research including transboundary water quality/quantity, water security, water export/sale and water privatization
- Deadline: September 30th each year
The Faculty of Arts Graduate Special Event Grant aims to help support special graduate student events, workshops, conferences, speakers and lecture series, etc. It is not intended for events that are covered by a Graduate Program’s operating budget.
Amount: Up to $200 per applicant, each academic year
The Faculty of Arts Graduate Student Travel Grant helps graduate students present original research at a regional, national or international conferences or equivalent academic events. Virtual conference registration fees are also eligible.
