Explore the science of music, happiness and connection at SingWell’s 2026 Symposium 🎶
Did you know singing with others can lower cortisol (the “stress hormone”), accelerate social bonding, and increase your pain tolerance? These are just a few of the findings SingWell has uncovered in their 15 years of research on what happens when people sing together. Today, they are working to create inclusive, non-performance opportunities to help more people experience these benefits for wellbeing.
SingWell invites you to their fifth annual symposium for a closer look at why group singing is both an ancient and an enduring human activity — and one that is earning its place in Canada’s growing social prescribing movement.
The morning will feature a keynote on building community through music, practical perspectives on integrating group singing into care and community settings, social connection workshops designed to go beyond networking, and the chance to sing together — guided by leading voices in group singing facilitation and belonging. This is where the science and the fun meet.
In the afternoon, SingWell will dive deeper on the latest findings from their international research network, including a keynote on the scientific basis of social connection through singing. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
