May Qaid

May is a fourth-year Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) student in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Ted Rogers School of Management. She is passionate about student leadership, community engagement, and creating opportunities that help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Before joining the Board of Governors, May served as a Student-at-Large member of the Toronto Metropolitan University Senate during the 2025–2026 academic year, where she represented student interests and contributed to university governance. She has also served on the Dean's Undergraduate Student Advisory Committee and worked as a ServiceHub Student Ambassador, helping students access university services and navigate campus resources.

Outside of the university, May works in the hospitality industry at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto and volunteers regularly with Fred Victor, where she serves meals to individuals experiencing homelessness. She believes in the importance of giving back to the community and values service as an essential part of leadership.

In her free time, May enjoys travelling, exploring different cultures, and meeting people from around the world. She believes that these experiences have broadened her perspective and strengthened her ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

As a member of the Board of Governors, May is committed to bringing forward student perspectives, supporting transparent and inclusive decision-making, and helping ensure that students have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of Toronto Metropolitan University.
