Jack Vanek

Jack Vanek is a final-year Business Management student at Toronto Metropolitan University, majoring in Human Resources Management with minors in Labour and Employment Relations as well as Public Relations. He was elected to the TMU Board of Governors as a student representative for a one-year term beginning September 1, 2026.

Jack has been actively involved in university governance throughout his time at TMU. He is currently serving a second term as a student Senator after being re-elected in February 2026. During his time on Senate, he has worked to advance initiatives that enhance the student academic experience, improve opportunities for student feedback, and support continuous improvement to strengthen the university's academic programs. 

Beyond the Senate, Jack has held several leadership and advisory roles within the TMU community. During the 2025-2026 academic year, he served as Vice President of Operations for the Human Resources Student Association, was a member of the search committee for the new Department Chair of Human Resources Management and Organizational Behaviour (HRM/OB), and a participant in the HRM/OB Advisory Council. During the 2026–2027 academic year, Jack will also serve as a mentor through the TRSM Business Career Hub and TMU's Tri-Mentoring Program, helping students build connections, navigate their academic and professional journeys, and become more engaged in the TMU community. 

As a member of the Board of Governors, Jack is committed to representing student perspectives while contributing to decisions that support the university's long-term success and sustainability. He believes students should have a meaningful voice in university governance and is passionate about fostering transparency, strengthening engagement, and helping ensure TMU continues to provide an exceptional academic experience for current and future students.
