Relocation funds

Eligible employees who must relocate to Toronto in order to accept employment with TMU may receive reimbursement for expenses covered under the policy, up to an amount stipulated in the letter of appointment. Further information can be found in the Relocation Assistance Policy and the Relocation Assistance Guidelines and Procedures.

Housing and accommodation

The relocation policy allows employees to seek reimbursement for up to three (3) nights of accommodation costs during a scouting trip for housing and for up to seven (7) nights post arrival, if local accommodation is not yet available.

Referrals for realtors are available upon request.

Immigration

TMU’s Immigration Support Services team is available to provide guidance and support to TMU employees on securing work permits and applying for permanent residence.

Reimbursement for legal fees and government processment fees towards the permanent residence application may be available for up to an amount stipulated in the letter of appointment.
