Faculty Leadership
Meet the leadership team guiding the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science; an experienced group of academic and industry leaders committed to advancing excellence in teaching, research, and student success.
Message from the Dean
Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Science
Dr. Sri Krishnan is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and a leading researcher in biomedical signal processing.
As we look toward 2030, we enter a defining decade shaped by advances in clean technologies, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, robotics, advanced materials, digital health, and sustainable infrastructure. Society’s expectations of universities are evolving. Graduates must be adaptable and globally minded, research must generate measurable impact, and partnerships must create meaningful and lasting value.
The Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) is home to more than 6,600 students, 250 faculty and staff, and 39,000 alumni whose ideas are transforming our city and our world. We know engineering and architecture have never been behind the scenes. These disciplines have always been pivotal in developing the best solutions to the hardest problems. At FEAS, we see engineers and architects as visionaries, community builders, and stewards of progress. We encourage our students to see their present and future in exactly the same way.
Our strategic plan, Elevate FEAS, commits to education with consequence. We are building pathways that combine curiosity with technical rigour, and knowledge with application. We are deepening our ties to industry, expanding research with real-world impact, and creating inclusive spaces where every idea has the potential to grow.
To our students, I hope this is where your questions are welcomed, your ideas are tested, and your confidence as a leader begins to take shape. To our faculty and staff, I hope this is a place where collaboration fuels innovation, and where your work makes a lasting difference. And to all who call FEAS home, I hope you see yourself as part of a community defined by purpose, creativity, and the courage to ask “what if.”
The future is not something we wait for. At FEAS, we are building it together.
Message from the Associate Deans
Associate Deans
At the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS), we are committed to providing a high-quality, immersive undergraduate experience. Our rigorous programs prepare future architects and engineers to design the world ahead, and our graduates emerge as ethical, conscientious leaders.
Through an innovative curriculum emphasizing hands-on learning, co-op placements, design, and digital skills, students tackle real-world challenges. Supported by dedicated faculty and state-of-the-art facilities, FEAS fosters creativity, critical thinking, and career readiness. Our integration of academic and experiential learning, strengthened by diverse perspectives, sets us apart. We look forward to welcoming you to our community.
Graduate education is central to FEAS’s academic mission. Over the past decade, the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) has grown into a high-impact unit supporting more than 1,000 students across 30 programs, representing nearly 40% of TMU’s graduate population.
OGPS has strengthened access and competitiveness through guaranteed funding packages, international PhD funding equity, and fourth-year PhD support. New accelerated pathways are advancing research excellence and award success, while expanded career development, recruitment support, and community-building initiatives are improving student outcomes. Together, these efforts are positioning FEAS graduate programs for national leadership and long-term impact. I am incredibly proud of the work our team has, and continues to do, to make the FEAS grad school experience one of distinction, opportunity, and excellence.
FEAS International plays a vital role in advancing global collaboration, learning, and innovation at Toronto Metropolitan University. Since its launch in 2024, the initiative has expanded opportunities for students, faculty, and partners to connect across borders, attract outstanding international students, and create meaningful global learning experiences. Through a growing network of partner universities and research institutions, FEAS International supports exchanges, collaborative research, and joint programs that strengthen our global impact and enrich the FEAS community. Whether you are a student, researcher, or institutional partner, I encourage you to engage with FEAS International and be part of shaping a more connected and innovative future.
At FEAS, our community engagement is guided by a single purpose: breaking down barriers to education, innovation, and prosperity. We work with six interconnected groups, from the young learners we inspire, to our students, faculty, alumni, industry partners, and supporters who help shape future engineers, architects, and building science professionals.
By engaging our community in this holistic way, we are building a future that is technologically advanced, environmentally sustainable, and truly inclusive. I invite you to learn more about our FEAS community and be part of what we are building together.
Building creative collaboration among students and faculty in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science is central to advancing multidisciplinary research and forging meaningful partnerships beyond the university. Through three research centres and four innovation zones, FEAS brings together diverse perspectives to address real-world challenges in areas ranging from biomedical and clean energy to aerospace and infrastructure innovation.
Students are the lifeblood of our Faculty, and we invest deeply in their success through research opportunities and mentorship alongside nationally and internationally recognized scholars. Together, our diverse community generates insight, creativity, and impact, driving excellence and positive change.
