Mentors

Technovation Girls Toronto logo

Do you want to be a mentor?

Technovation Girls mentors:

  • support teams of girls through their Technovation Challenge, helping them to
    • keep on-track.
    • meet deadlines.
    • find solutions to problems.
    • designate work responsibilities.
  • dedicate about 2-3 hours per week throughout the program (January to April) in their role as team project manager.
  • may pair up to share the workload and time commitment with their teams.
  • are supported through training and networking.

Mentor eligibility

  • Mentors must be over the age of 18 and may be of any gender.
  • To mentor a team, you must first set up an account on the Technovation global platform and complete the following information:
    • consent form 
    • background check
    • short biography of yourself
    • self-paced training which includes basics about the prgram, student safety, and competition requirements.
  • Every volunteer should make sure to review Technovation's volunteer code of conduct (external link) .

Mentor registration

Registration for the 2026 season is now open! If you would like to join our Toronto chapter, please register only if you are ready to commit to the program. Please attend a mentor informtion session. Note that there are 2 signups required each year.

  1. Register on the Technovation global platform to be officially part of the Technovation challenge and to complete the components listed above under mentor eligibility. Be sure to select Toronto under chapter affiliation on the platform.
  2. Register for our Toronto chapter for us to connect you with a team and support your efforts.

Support for mentors

The Technovation global platform provides a variety of helpful materials on their mentor resources page (external link) . Toronto mentors will also benefit from the local network.

Our Toronto chapter holds information sessions (external link)  for prospective mentors, and orientation and training for registered mentors.
