Diversity & Inclusion Programs
The Career, Co-op & Student Success Centre is dedicated to removing barriers to employment for students who identify with one or more equity-deserving groups. Every year, we collaborate with various internal and external partners on targeted career programming and opportunities that support community building and networking amongst equity-deserving students and industry professionals.
CC&SS proudly partners with and promotes programming from the following external organizations:
- Accelerate Her Future (external link) : A leading career accelerator for Indigenous, Black, and racialized women pursuing careers in business and STEM
- Onyx Initiative (external link) : Offering career development resources, networking, mentoring and coaching opportunities to Black students
We also partner and collaborate with various units within TMU on career programming that targets various equity-deserving groups, including and not limited to:
- Tri-Mentoring Program
- International Student Support
- Gdoo-maawnjidimi Mompii Indigenous Student Services
- Black Student Success and Engagement
We encourage you to check out our partners' work, connect with them or use their resources.
Some of the inclusion-focused career development programming CC&SS has hosted in the past include:
- Indigenous Career Mentoring Circle (for Indigenous students)
- Race Forward Career Development Program (for Black undergraduate students)
- Black Graduate Career Mentorship Program (for Black graduate students)
- Job Search Club for International Students (separate editions for undergraduate and graduate + mature students)
- Pre-Career Fair Networking Breakfast (for all equity-deserving student groups)
Because our programming can change from year to year to meet emerging needs, if you are a student looking to learn more about career programming for specific group(s) in the current academic year, or you are a student group or an organization exploring opportunities to collaborate with us on such programming, please contact the Career Education Team for more information.
We have compiled a non-exhaustive (google doc) list of community resources and organizations (external link) that might be helpful to students/alumni from various equity-deserving groups, including students with disabilities, Black students, Indigenous students, 2SLGBTQ+ students, and international and newcomer students.
