Join Alan Galey, Ellen Forget, and Brendan Allen, editors of ApertureScience.com: A Critical Edition (https://scholarlyediting.org/issues/42/aperturescience-com/ (external link) ), for a discussion of their experiences creating what is likely the first scholarly edition of a born-digital interactive work of fiction. They will address topics such as editorial design, challenges encountered, and insights gained. Attendees are encouraged to peruse ApertureScience.com: A Critical Edition and this Veil of Code blog post on the edition in advance of the event: https://veilofcode.wordpress.com/2025/05/10/aperturescience-com-a-critical-edition/ (external link) . Alan Galey is an Associate Professor and Brendan Allen is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Information at University of Toronto. Ellen Forget is a Killam Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta.
