Sustainability Initiatives at TMU

Sustainability at TMU aims to create a culture of sustainability within the university community, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability in the way they develop, operate, and maintain the campus through a variety of initiatives.

Urban Farm

The Urban Farm operates two rooftop farms on campus to produce and distribute food, facilitate research, and engage the community through ecological rooftop farming and food justice initiatives.

Cycling to Campus: Beginners' Guide

Office of Student Care

The Office of Student Care can help you access resources and holistic support following any challenges you may experience while you study. Student Care also works with the TMU community to identify students in distress and address disruptive student behaviour.

Commuter Hostel

The TMU commuter hostel is available to TMU students. It offers a short-term accommodation option for commuters to support things like early classes, weekend exams or late-night projects.

The Navigate TMU program (through Career, Co-op & Student Success Centre) helps first year students feel more confident and knowledgeable of the skills and resources to navigate university.

Student Success Navigator Appointments

Student Success Navigators (through Career, Co-op & Student Success Centre) provide one-on-one support to connect you with various services available on campus to help you meet your goals.

MyServiceHub

MyServiceHub is a one-stop shop for everything you need to do online, such as viewing your academic, financial, and personal information at TMU.

Office of Student Care

The Office of Student Care can help you access resources and holistic support following any challenges you may experience while you study. Student Care also works with the TMU community to identify students in distress and address disruptive student behaviour.

Parking Services

TMU offers flexible parking options including short and long-term passes and permits, as well as public parking available to staff, faculty, students, and visitors.

Computing and Communications Services (CCS) Help Desk

The Computing and Communications Services (CCS) Help Desk assists faculty, staff and students with navigating tech issues, account or cybersecurity questions.

Transitioning at TMU

Student Records is committed to creating a safe environment for transitioning students at TMU by updating the name and/or gender identity appearing on documents and student records.

Community Safety and Security

Community Safety and Security’s highest priority is the safety of all community members and they offer a variety of safety training and workshops and resources for staying safe on campus.

Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at TMU provides consulting and advisory services on all environmental health and safety matters including Smoking and Vaping on Campus, Ergonomics and more.

Inclusive Signage and All Gender Washrooms

Inclusive washroom signage and all gender washrooms on TMU are an important part of making our campus safe, accessible and welcoming.

Black Student Lounge

A lounge open to Black TMU students, staff and faculty, aiming to counter the harms of institutional racism by creating safer spaces for healing and community. Overseen by Black Student Success and Engagement (BSSE) at TMU. 

Faith Rooms

A list of dedicated prayer spaces on campus, as well as a few quiet spaces that sometimes frequent as prayer spaces.

Infant Feeding Room & Pod

Private feeding spaces for students and employees to nurse their children on campus.

Ahnoowehpeekahmik, Staff and Faculty Wellbeing Lounge

The lounge provides a space for TMU employees to connect, socialize and eat, rejuvenate and rest on campus.

Oakham Cafe & The Met Campus Pub

The Oakham Cafe and Met Campus Pub are two on-campus spaces for students, faculty, and staff to connect and enjoy affordable food and drinks. These spaces are run by the Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union (TMSU), which represents over 36,000 full-time undergraduate students at TMU.

Low-Sensory Study Lounge

The Study Lounge offers low-sensory study hours with dim lighting, fidget items, snacks and Peer Academic Coaching.

Inclusive washroom signage and all gender washrooms on TMU are an important part of making our campus safe, accessible and welcoming.

Equity Service Centres

The Toronto Metropolitan Students' Union (TMSU) Equity Service Centres provide drop-in spaces for students, community-building events, and help create safer campus spaces through advocacy. Groups include BIPOC Students' Collective, Student Access Collective, The Queer Space, Trans Collective, SHIFT, Centre for Women and Trans People (CWTP) and more.

Early Learning Centre

A centre that provides care for children between the ages of 18 months to five years.

Outdoor Bookable Spaces

TMU offers outdoor bookable spaces on campus for conferences, workshops, or other professional engagements. When these spaces aren't booked, they're open for anyone to enjoy, whether you want to relax, study, connect with others, or get your steps in.

Digital Media Experience Lab

The DME is a place where students, staff and faculty come to create, collaborate and explore digital media tools through the TMU Libraries.

Outdoor Bookable Spaces

TMU offers outdoor bookable spaces on campus for conferences, workshops, or other professional engagements. When these spaces aren't booked, they're open for anyone to enjoy, whether you want to relax, study, connect with others, or get your steps in.
