Remembering Professor Emeritus Howard Muchnick (1944-2014) 10th Year Anniversary
Throughout his 13 years of teaching at TMU, Howard Muchnick was more than just a professor to students at HTM, he was a friend. He was an outstanding educator who brought energy and dedication to his classes and took a deep interest in the lives of his students. Always ready to help anyone who asked and would go out of his way to make sure that person was given the help and support they needed. He was renowned for his sense of humour and the laughter he brought to every situation.
Howard was the recipient of the 2011 Award for Outstanding Contribution to the HTM Experience, the 2012 Dean's Teaching Award, and he was also awarded "A Prof Who Made A Mark" in 2013 and 2014 for professors who have positively impacted their academic experience at Toronto Met.
He began and ended his career in teaching but spent many years in the corporate world, first at Citibank in New York and later running two of Toronto's most important tourist attractions, Casa Loma and the CN Tower.
He was a Member of the TTC Customer Service Panel and the Harbourfront Foundation Board of Directors, as well as an active consultant for C.E.S.O. with human resource projects in Czech Republic, Azerbaijan and Hungary, and an adviser to major banks in customer service.
Howard is dearly missed by all alumni, staff and faculty at TMU.
