HTM Director Chris Gibbs

Welcome message from HTM Director Dr. Chris Gibbs

It is with immense excitement that I extend a warm welcome to each of you as you begin your journey at Toronto Metropolitan University! Whether you're a returning student or just starting your academic adventure with us, you're now part of a vibrant and diverse community.

My name is Chris Gibbs, and I am an alumnus and the Director of the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. I'm incredibly eager to meet many of you and work towards making your experience here memorable and life changing.

While academic success is undoubtedly a cornerstone of your time at TMU, I want to strongly encourage you to embrace the full university experience. This means actively engaging in campus life and exploring the incredible City of Toronto. Our campus is buzzing with opportunities – from student clubs and organizations covering every interest imaginable, to volunteer opportunities, intramural sports, and countless events throughout the year. These experiences are invaluable for building connections, developing new skills, and creating lasting memories.

Your next step is attending our HTM Academic Orientation on Tuesday, August 26th at 10 a.m. Orientation is mandatory for incoming students and allows you to get to know Toronto Metropolitan University and HTM. Please RSVP on the Orientation Events page. Make sure you know what other steps you need to take as a new student at Toronto Metropolitan University, and check out all the other Orientation events that TMU has in store for New Students.

We are here to help you achieve your academic and career goals. If you need assistance (or just want to say hello), please connect with me at cgibbs@torontomu.ca.
