On May 12, 2022 the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a reception organized by students Laiqa Lalani and Chantal Wong, under the guidance of of our instructor Judy Healy.

We would like to thank the Microsoft Canada (external link) team for all your support, excellent service, and providing the perfect Toronto backdrop for our celebration.

HTM's Culinary & Catering Department's Executive Chef Tommy McHugh, Food & Beverage Operations Manager Evelina Kalantzi, and their team, along with our student volunteers provided an amazing spread and service!

A special thanks go to alumni Jamieson Kerr, Owner, The Queen and Beaver Gastro Pub, Glenn Brown, President & CEO, Bento Sushi, and their staff for supporting our celebration, as well as the Ryerson Hospitality Alumni Association (external link) (RHAA) for raising funds for student scholarships through their silent auction!

Dr. Daphne Taras, Dean, Ted Rogers School of Management, Dr. Jennifer Simpson, Provost & VP Academic, Toronto Metropolitan University, and past Advisory Council member Johanne Belanger, Compass Group Canada provided inspiring words to our industry guests and alumni!

We also had the honour of celebrating Prof. Bernie McEvoy's and Dr. Zhen Lu's retirement during our 70th Anniversary Celebration. It was a pleasure seeing Professors Emeriti Richard Wade and George Slavinski celebrating this milestone!

Thank you to everyone in the planning committee, who along with HTM's Catering team and our student volunteers made our 70th Celebration a night to remember!
