Dr. Irene Huertas Valdivia
PhD with Cum Laude distinction in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Granada (with International Doctorate Mention), and holder of a Master's Degree in Economics and Business Organization. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Labour Sciences, a Diploma in Tourism, and a Teaching Certificate (CAP) from the University of Granada.
Since 2016, she has been a professor in the Department of Business Organization at Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), where she has received several recognitions, including Professor of the Year in 2023 and First Prize in the URJC Innovative Professors Awards in 2022, as well as two Docentia teaching evaluation periods rated as Excellent.
Previously, she worked for two years as a professor and researcher in the Department of Tourism at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico), where she also participated in several research projects with the Mexican Government's Ministry of Tourism.
Her research and publications focus on human resource management and leadership in the hotel industry.
She is a certified specialist in Hotel Management and Administration from Alfonso X El Sabio University in Madrid and holds a C1 level in English. She held various managerial positions over nine years at AC Hotels and Marriott International.
