What’s one thing you’re currently working on that you’re extremely proud of?

Currently, I’m working on completing my thesis on understanding the lived experience of third culture kids (TCKs) transitioning to university. It’s been an interesting process so far, but I’m enjoying the journey of completing the project and learning new skills. My favourite part has been hearing about the unique experiences of these individuals and the levels of coping and resilience they have shown. I think this project is significant because it highlights a niche population many are unaware of and gives a new perspective to the current literature on TCKs. 

Do you have a favourite psychology course? If so, what was it and what was great about it?

One of my favourite psychology courses that I’ve taken is the social psychology seminar. I loved that the class was very small and intimate; it was easy to get to know everyone and become friendly. Additionally, the content of the course was exciting; we learned about different crime cases and the various techniques the police used to solve them, such as geographic profiling. 

What do you like most about the psychology professors?

All the professors are willing to help you with any problem that you may have. Whether this is giving you some extra time to complete an assignment or meeting with you outside of office hours to explain a course concept further to make sure you fully understand. Additionally, they’re all very kind and welcoming. If you want to chat about future career options, goals, or anything else, they’re open to having those conversations and building a connection with you.  

What resource at TMU do you think that psychology students should take advantage of?

For any program in the faculty of arts, having and maintaining good academic writing and study skills is always going to be one of the main priorities for students as it helps to make their time in university much smoother. TMU offers some excellent study skills and writing workshops for students to utilize. I highly recommend students participate in these to improve their skills.
