Dr. Afsoon Soudi

Assistant Professor

Dr. Soudi (she/her) has a PhD in Physics from Washington State University and is a tenure track professor in media analytics at RTA school of Media. She has an excellent research track record, holds 2 patents and published numerous peer reviewed articles in high impact journals.

Prior to her role at TMU, she led agile teams at CBC, to develop machine learning products enabling discoverability, engagement and personalization in CBC digital products. She has also co-founded an award winning software company, IRYStec, which was later acquired. She has secured both Mitacs and NSERC grants to grow her business and participated in multiple incubator and accelerator programs. 

With significant experience in team building, and people development, Dr. Soudi is committed to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion by mentoring and empowering women and underrecognized groups in their growth and now as an educator developing inclusive creators of the future.
