Biography

Aitirja completed her undergrad in Computer Science at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), where she also pursued a minor in Communication Design. As she pursued her degree, Aitirja discovered how technology and design can be beautifully integrated to create products and applications that change the world. Creativity has been a big part of Aitirja’s life. Whether it be designing or making innovative solutions, Aitirja always motivates herself to look for inspiration. She not only enjoys designing visually appealing UI that attracts the attention of the intended audience but also, loves to develop applications that promote world-class user experience. With close to 5+ years of experience in the tech field, Aitirja has always tried to create experiences for herself that matches her interests and, helps her grow as a person. 

Why Digital Media?

Digital Media stands on an intersection between technology and design. As it is a platform that is constantly evolving, it comes with endless opportunities that change the trajectory of the world. When I stumbled upon the MDM program, I saw a pathway to achieve my dreams. I have always tried to pursue a career path where I can integrate my technical skills with my passion for design. Through Digital Media, I am learning to be innovative which is fuelling my creativity to develop products that are beneficial to the world.

Exploring Immersive Technologies: Creating an Engaging Player Experience using Augmented Reality in Escape Rooms

The purpose of this research is to explore a new form of escape room that connects players with the story through the use of immersive technologies, specifically augmented reality (AR). By leveraging AR tools, players can gather virtual clues and solve puzzles within a physical room. The study aims to analyze the immersive aspects of escape rooms and examine the factors contributing to their popularity as an entertainment form, focusing on the experiences players have while solving puzzles.
