The Web 3.0 concept and blockchain market substantially impacted Yanbo and Joe’s project. A non-fungible token (NFT) is a tradable digital asset representing real-world objects such as art, music, in-game items, and videos on the blockchain. The loot box project will be an iteration of the current NFT purchasing experience, which optimized gamified and interactive environments for consumers. Specifically, it focuses on maximizing the consumer’s arousal effect through gamification planning and rule sets.

Biography

Jingfeng (Joe) Fu graduated from California College of the Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art. He studied jewelry design and founded his jewelry design company during his junior year as an undergrad. Throughout her years of jewelry study and work, he enjoyed the digital aspect of the industry the most; he began with 3D modeling, then 3D print, render, and graphic design as designer assistance in a New York Jewelry brand, Joe touch-based with digital marketing and website management. Then he found out he has a keen interest in user experience design and web design. He studied online lectures of web design, coding, UX design, and project management when he was off duty; and created his portfolio upon them. These experiences would lead Joe to further focus on UX design and digital project management and pivot to a career in such fields.

“Creativity, Design Thinking and Iterative learning” are the core values that Joe always reminds and pushes himself. He believes pushing his boundaries at innovative processes will integrate knowledge and loosen all the constraints of inspiration. 

Why Digital Media?

Joe is a mission-oriented person. Pursuing a master’s degree in digital media allows him to explore further his interest in UX design, web design, and digital marketing. He hopes to continue building his hard skills as a UX designer and digital project manager beyond self-study. Such an intensive program will allow him to exert himself in team projects and learning from a wide range of experts. He believes he will pave the way for the fast-changing digital future with his study in this program.
