Pui Yee Chau is a fashion educator and mentor with more than 25 years of teaching experience at Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Fashion. Throughout her career, she has combined expertise in apparel design, garment construction, contour and intimate apparel, and evening wear with a commitment to developing the next generation of fashion professionals.

Her teaching philosophy balances creativity with technical excellence, critical thinking, and professional discipline. She encourages students to explore their individual creative voices while developing the practical skills required to transform ideas from concept through research, design, construction, and presentation.

Mentorship is central to Pui Yee’s approach. She believes students grow through experimentation, thoughtful critique, reflection, and continuous refinement. Having taught and mentored generations of fashion students, she remains passionate about helping emerging designers build confidence, strengthen their craftsmanship, and develop meaningful creative practices that prepare them for an evolving fashion industry.
