Millie Yates is fashion designer, researcher, and digital design educator. Her research explores the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and technology, and the role virtual design can play in enacting accessible and environmentally-conscious fashion futures. She holds an MA in Fashion Studies and a BDes in Fashion Design from Toronto Metropolitan University, and has worked as a designer in the Canadian fashion industry for the past decade. Her professional background includes the design of cut and sew knitwear, fleece, activewear, and soft wovens, and has extensive experience with collection design, technical design, and product development. An avid digital fashion enthusiast, her master’s research examined the impact of virtual prototyping technology on the fashion design process. Millie is a CLO 3D accredited instructor and teaches digital fashion design at Toronto Metropolitan University.
