Discover your creative potential by learning to fuse emerging technologies with artistic practice. The New Media program focuses on the design and creative production of interactive and experiential art. Learn skills in interaction design, gaming, interactive storytelling, robotics, wearable computing, art installations, digital fabrication, AR/VR and more! 

Access creative technology and cutting-edge facilities that are home to 3D modelling, AR/VR, CNC routers, laser cutters, 3D printers, robotic arms, motion capture and much more. Join the Innovation Studio, an incubator for storytelling and creative entrepreneurship. Connect with global creators and tap into the industry through collaborations with TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Ontario Science Centre and more. Gain global perspectives through boot camps in Los Angeles and London.

Academic requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.

Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  • A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred).

Student spotlight

New Media alum’s wearable tech collection brings awareness to police brutality

Tristian Sauer, a new media artist and curator and a recent grad of the New Media program, recently showcased a wearable tech collection. The interactive pieces were featured as part of a fictitious performance piece to shed light on police brutality at the Innovation Studio.
