Frank A. Russo
Frank Russo is a Professor of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he holds the NSERC-Sonova Senior Industrial Research Chair in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience. In his Science of Music Auditory Research and Technology (SMART) Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University, he conducts basic research on the perceptual, neuro-cognitive, and social-emotional bases of music and speech.
He is also the principal investigator of a 7-year SSHRC Partnership Grant called SingWell that focuses on the potential for singing to support communication and social wellbeing in people living with communication challenges. He is also an affiliate scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and adjunct professor in the Faculties of Medicine (Rehabilitation Sciences) and Music at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association, Canadian Society for Brain Behaviour and Cognitive Science, and Massey College, and a past president of the Canadian Acoustical Association.
