October’s Unarchived podcast (released October 29th, https://storiesinplay.com/unarchived-podcast/) discusses Supermassive Games’ The Devil in Me (2022), which builds on traditions that can be traced to the LaserDisc games of the 1980s like Dragon’s Lair (Cinematronics, 1983) and point-and-click adventure games such as The Secret of Monkey Island (LucasArts, 1990).
As part of the CDH’s Stories in Play series, this roundtable discussion involving members of the Unarchived team will use the podcast episode as a springboard for a broader discussion of the evolution of interactive narratives and their unique combination of gameplay and storytelling.
