The Faculty of Arts presents …
Politics of Listening: Keynote with Professor Leah Bassel, University of Roehampton, UK
In the attention economy, being heard is the name of the game. But what about “giving an ear?”
Truly listening is hard work but critical to understanding the complexity of our increasingly global lives.
Hear from keynote speaker Leah Bassel, professor and author of Politics of Listening whose “work illuminates listening as a site of political struggle between and among citizens, non-citizens and the state.”
Dr. Bassel’s talk is part of the Democracy Xchange, Canada’s premier democracy summit running Jan. 25 to 27 and co-presented by Ryerson’s Faculty of Arts.
