Peggy Nash (she/her/hers) joined the Faculty of Arts in 2017 and is a co-instructor of the unique experiencial program Women in the House and the Co-Lead at the TMU Institute for Democratic Leadership. She a former NDP Member of Parliament where she served as Official Opposition Critic in Finance and Industry. She is also the author of the book Women Winning Office, An Activists Guide to Getting Elected which has been called ‘a master class in electoral politics”.

Prior to politics Nash was a senior labour negotiator with the CAW (now Unifor) where she lead negotiations in the auto, airlines and service sector. She also developed groundbreaking human rights and equity programs for which she was named to the Order of Canada and awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws from Brock University.

She serves on community boards such as Canadians 4 Tax Fairness and the Broadbent Institute.
