Here you will find a variety of resources available at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) to support your mental wellbeing, including individual and group counselling, programs, workshops, and more.

Centre for Student Development and Counselling (CSDC)

The CSDC offers a variety of mental health supports including individual and group counselling, crisis support, referrals and resource navigation.

Medical Centre

Health appointments for all current TMU students, staff, and faculty, including services such as physicals, mental health assessments, assessments for common medical problems, immunizations, and medical certificates.

A list of local hospitals to support mental and physical health.

Spiritual Counselling

Spiritual counselling services are designed to provide spiritual care, guidance, and support for anyone facing personal or academic challenges.

Culturally supportive services, programs and initiatives to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students at TMU.

Black Student Success and Engagement

Black Student Success and Engagement is dedicated to empowering Black students through tailored services, events, and community connections.

Health Promotion Programs

Health Promotion offers programs that aim to support your mental, physical, social, and spiritual wellbeing.

Tri-Mentoring Program

An initiative of Student Life and Learning Support (SLLS), the Tri-Mentoring Program’s priority is to mentor and support you using your individual experience to find your sense of belonging on campus.

Centre for Safer Sex and Sexual Violence Support (C3SVS)

Free and confidential peer support for survivors of sexual violence and their supporters, as well as products to lessen the impacts of period poverty and eliminate financial barriers to having safer sex.

Consent Comes First (CCF)

Confidential, trauma-informed support for TMU students affected by sexual or gender-based violence. 

Centre for Student Development and Counselling (CSDC)

Professional counsellors at the CSDC provide trauma-informed and trauma-specific care for students seeking to address the impacts of sexual and gender-based violence.

NER+D promotes a caring campus culture by helping you develop practical skills and mental health literacy to navigate challenging conversations with compassion and clarity.

TMU employees can access a wide range of career development and wellbeing resources through Human Resources, enrol in training and workshops.

Faculty Affairs

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs (OVPFA) is responsible for the management and planning for faculty, contract lecturers, and academic assistants in the areas of labour and employee relations, collective bargaining, development and renewal, and oversight of faculty complement.

Office of Student Care

The Office of Student Care can help you access resources and holistic support following any challenges you may experience while you study. Student Care also works with the TMU community to identify students in distress and address disruptive student behaviour.

ThriveTMU

ThriveTMU uses concepts from the field of Positive Psychology to provide training and resources for wellbeing. It also embeds holistic learning strategies that intentionally weave wellbeing practices into time management, studying, and other academic skills so that how students learn actively supports how they feel and function.

Therapy Dogs on Campus 

Overseen by Student Life and Campus Engagement and in partnership with St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dog Program, TMU brings therapy dogs for students to interact with throughout the semester.

The Office of Social Innovation (OSI) develops experiential learning, research, and funding opportunities that support the university’s commitment to equitable and just access to education. 

Legal Aid & Academic Advocacy for Undergraduate Students (TMSU)

TMSU represents over 36,000 full-time undergraduate students at TMU, providing you with a variety of health, advocacy, equity, financial supports, and more.

Legal Clinic & Academic Advocacy for Part Time Students (TMAPS)

TMAPS is the central students’ union that represents all 16,000 continuing education, distance education, and part-time degree students and students taking a Chang School course at TMU.

Legal Aid & Student Advocacy for Graduate Students (TMGSU)

TMGSU supports the graduate student journey by offering services such as health and dental coverage, funding for course unions, and hosting events to build a community on campus.

Office of the Ombudsperson

The Office of the Ombudsperson at Toronto Metropolitan University supports students with problems and conflicts with the university. Contact their office if you believe you have been treated unfairly, are not sure what your options are, or if you would like to discuss how a policy or procedure applies to your situation.

Community Safety and Security

TMU’s on-campus security. Community Safety and Security supports the safety and security of all TMU community members and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
